Week 14 - Finale

Welcome to the last week of The Sims 3 GCRPG Reality Show Challenge!  This post will be short and sweet because most of the competition is pretty much over.  All that needs to happen now is for the evicted contestants to choose which finalist they want to win.  So for Kory and Nathaniel there's no reason to fight, and as they're both such friendly, happy Sims they don't want to either.

So they spend the week simply relaxing.  Or at least Kory was relaxing until she accidentally broke the hot tub.

It's just as well, as it starts to rain shortly afterward.  Though it's just as well, since it starts to rain shortly afterward.  Is it just me, or is holding an umbrella while wearing sunglasses and a bikini a really odd look?

Friendly hug!

Friendly hug!

The middle of the week arrives, and our finalists get one more shot at winning votes.  They invite everyone they can still remember (Sim memories aren't that long sometimes...) to a pool party, though a few uninvited guests came as well.  Everyone seems to be having a good time.

Though it does help that Jason is avoiding Kory and hanging out with Lola and Nathaniel instead.

And it seems that things have calmed down between Kory and Harvey during their time apart.  Time will tell if they ever warm up again, though.

Kory kicks back and relaxes during the party, while Nathaniel does a little of that but also makes sure that he works his way through the guests, chatting them up.  This is the last he and Kory will see of any of them before they vote, after all.

Of course, some things never change whether a Sim has been evicted or not.

After the party ends and the guests leave, Kory and Nathaniel go right back to relaxing and try not to think about the impending vote now that there's nothing they can do but wait.  Though I think they're playing to see who has to take out the trash - they're actually having a hard time keeping the house clean because it seems like when one of them decides to clean something, the other decides that they just have to interrupt them for a chat right then.

Friendly hug!

Nathaniel decides that the perfect time to go practice his tricks on the trampoline is in the middle of a rainstorm.

He's still dripping wet when Kory decides to sit by him as he reads and she enjoys yet another snowcone.

Friendly hug!

But finally the week reaches its end and the votes come in.  In the end,  Jeremiah Arkham and Black Mask vote for Kory to win, while literally everyone else votes for Nathaniel.  He won a lot of extra points by working the crowd at the party well, and because he kept himself away from the drama during the last few weeks - many of Kory's long time supporters backed Nathaniel instead in the end.  He wins a ridiculously large sum of money as well as the house they've been living in.

But wait!  It's not quite over yet - we still have an epilogue coming up that will answer questions like:  Does Kory get back together with Harvey or dump him for Victor?  Will anyone else pair up now that the competition is over?

And, of course, after that we have the much anticipated Part 2...

Week 13 - Choosing Sides

So, you are looking at the blog of the second-to-last week of this competition - next post is the finale!  And we have three Sims in the house all hoping to be finalists.  All they have to do is not be voted out this week.  And the strategy here is simple: while all three of these Sims get along wonderfully, to advance they need to convince another contestant to like them more than the other contestant.  Which means that everyone's going to try really hard to be the most liked in this house.  Here Victor and Nathaniel are bonding over a game of catch.

And here Nathaniel is flirting with Kory - which he does frequently.  And usually they don't get caught by Victor.  She doesn't flirt back, but then again she seems to enjoy it anyway.

And over here Nathaniel is flirting with Victor - which he does frequently.  And usually they don't get caught by Kory.  This is not one of those times.  He also doesn't flirt back, but seems to enjoy it too - when Kory's not around.

Bed time is a hard time because, though these three are all good enough friends to not have any trouble sharing a bed, there's just the one so whoever is the slowest getting there each evening gets to wait up for awhile.  Tonight is Victor's night.

The three have a strange dynamic - Kory and Nathaniel are excessively good friends, and in spite of Nathaniel's flirting it shows no sign of turning romantic.  Kory seems to have friend-zoned him, but he also doesn't seem to be trying very hard either.  Many friendly hugs are exchanged.  Kory and Victor's relationship is somewhat volatile - usually they flirt back and forth, but sometimes Victor will say something that Kory thinks is boring, and then when she tries to flirt he's still somewhat bothered by the fact that she was bored and doesn't care to be flirted with right after.  Nathaniel and Victor get along well, but also don't quite seem to understand each other even though they're very good friends at the same time.

Shortly into the week, Nathaniel masters the fine art of making sure the third Sim in the house is not in the same room while he's flirting.  Which effectively dissolves all tension in the house as that was the only thing anyone was getting upset with anyone about.

The middle of the week arrives, and here we see Victor enjoying an early morning jump on the trampoline.  And yes, he lands this trick.  He's been up all night because everyone was slow to get to bed, Nathaniel and Kory both beat him there, and they're still not awake yet.  He survives the day by drinking coffee.  Lots of coffee.

When evening arrives and it's time to see who goes to the Bistro, it's not Kory but Nathaniel who wins the right to choose because he managed to win over Victor.  He still likes Kory best though, so she's invited to go with him.

At the Bistro, the staff somehow managed to bring Nathaniel the wrong meal, but he ate it anyway and deemed it the most amazing thing he's ever tasted.  Afterward he and Kory had another one of their friendly chats.

But then they noticed the other Sims milling around and had a chat with them as well - Two-Face is walking past as Kory chats with a townie named Tameka Newsome, while Nathaniel chats with Jason.

Fast forward a bit, and I've almost got everyone present in this shot.  Jeremiah Arkham is sitting at the table, Nathaniel's gotten into a water balloon fight with Selina, Harley's behind them talking to herself, Two-Face is contemplating bed, and Kory's gotten into a water balloon fight with Tameka, who is just off camera.  Phew!

Fast forward a little more, and Tameka's left but Jeremiah's taken her place, Nathaniel's still doing battle with Selina, and Two-Face is taking a phone call.

By the time they get home Victor's given up on coffee and is in bed.  Kory joins him, and Nathaniel's the one who gets to wait up.

The next day, Kory decides that a hot summer's day is the perfect day to try a cold weather sport.  And she doesn't seem to be too good at it, poor girl.

When Nathaniel and Victor beat her to the bed that evening, she decides that a midnight swim is in order, and that seems to agree with her more.  CANNONBALL!

Of course, the fact that Kory then goes to bed after Nathaniel and Victor wake up makes it extremely easy for Nathaniel to flirt with Victor all he wants the next morning.

Because of all the flirting, Victor votes for Kory to leave and not Nathaniel.  However, since both Nathaniel and Kory voted for him to leave, he's the one who goes.

But hey, third place is not bad - especially when you get to ride off in style on your motorcycle instead of having to grab a taxi instead.

And then there were two...

Week 12 - Loyalty

It's time for another installment of your favorite GCRPG related Sims blog!  And this is a short one, simply because we're down to only four Sims and the fewer Sims we have the lower the likelihood that someone will do something interesting.  And it's been a quiet week.  Though I personally am thrilled that the snowman gnome who appeared changed the radio from playing hip-hop, which I was getting sick of (it was Hawkgirl's favorite and nobody else seems to feel the need to mess with the radio), and it's now playing soul.  I'd prefer it if someone would just turn the thing off, but different music is an improvement.  But as cute as the snowman gnome is, he's not what you're here to see.

No, you're here to see Kory and Victor, aren't you?  Well, they definitely seem to be enjoying being able to express their affection without massive amounts of drama.

Nathaniel pulls a Selina - he burned the spaghetti, so he decided to have a snowcone instead.

While many, many Sims have practiced throwing the baton, I believe this is the first time that two Sims have actually played Gnubb together.  Sadly, Kory interrupted Nathaniel to have a chat with him before a winner was determined.

But while Kory and Victor are free to flirt as much as they want without Two-Face getting all upset about it, there is one small snag:  Jason still doesn't like it.  And not because they're doing it in the only bathroom with a shower when he desperately needs one - he's still best friends with Two-Face, who is still engaged to Kory, so he's still not happy about the flirting.

Nathaniel, on the other hand, is the only Sim in the house that doesn't have to worry about jealousy issues - he doesn't care who flirts with who, and in fact does more than his fair share of the flirting.  Even the mirror gets some of his attention.

He's also the only one now on good terms with Jason, who is furious at both Victor and Kory.  That's definitely not going to be good for him during the voting...

Though it's not like Kory and Victor haven't both tried to mend things with him, it just... doesn't go well.

When the middle of the week arrives and it's time to figure out who gets choose who goes on a tour of the Town Hall, the voting results in a tie between Kory and Nathaniel.  And since the winner only gets to pick one Sim to go with them, and they both would choose each other, I didn't bother to go through the complicated process of figuring out which was officially the winner and which one got to go with the winner - let's just leave it a tie, okay?

After the tour, Kory and Nathaniel bump into Selina, who is looking much more... alive than she was the last time we saw her.  But after all the drama in the house, it seems that Kory is definitely no longer interested in flirting with her.

After all the burnt food everyone's been making, Victor shows off his cooking prowess by making a very good pumpkin pie.

Despite the repeated failures, Victor is still trying to convince Jason that he's not such a bad guy, but Jason's not hearing any of it.

After all, he still catches Victor and Kory flirting with each other on a regular basis.

Even though Nathaniel occasionally causes problems for the couple because he also flirts with both of them and occasionally they catch each other.

But in the end, Jason's absolute intolerance for Kory's disloyalty to his friend Two-Face is what leads to him being voted out, getting three votes because Nathaniel prefers Victor over him.

And that's the end of Week 12!  The Red room has been locked, which means that our remaining three Sims get to share the one double bed, one toilet, and one shower in the Rainbow room.  Next week we find out who the final two will be, and only two more weeks until we have our winner!
